Allow us to toggle inactive/deleted employees on/off on the Time Entries screen.
On the time entries screen when we click the team member column to filter down, all deleted and inactive employee are still listed. I would like them to not display unless I toggle them on. We've been using Canopy for several years and have a larger firm, so the list of former employees in the dropdown is becoming long and cumbersome.

Client Home Screen View
It would be extremely helpful if the upcoming Events section of a clients home screen be changed to show a LIST of the scheduled event items for that client instead of only showing events for 5 days.

Connect Engagements "Awaiting Acceptance" to the client profile.
Hey there,
The current reporting for engagements sent to a client but in the status "awaiting acceptance" are very hard to find, filter, etc. Can we link engagements to the client profile regardless of the state they are in?

Differentiate between taxpayer and spouse on client info
It would be nice in the client info section, if instead of just choosing the "star" next to a phone number, we could put a note that said taxpayer or spouse. Our Admin teams says this would be extremely helpful when calling clients.

Way to view all tasks assigned to a client
It would be great to see a list in the client profile of the tasks that are assigned to that client. As a newer user to templates, we have come across a few clients with duplicated tasks. However, when you go to the client you can only see the current tasks due or completed tasks. If you have a task that gets created as of a certain date, the task will not appear until that date.
This missing information makes it very difficult to ensure all clients have the appropriate tasks assigned to them, without duplicating tasks.1 vote -
Time Entry and due dates
We run payroll for clients, some of them are weekly. So we have weekly tasks setup, we also have subtasks setup. We have an "invoicing" subtask which might not get cleared for a few months. Meanwhile the payroll processing tasks stack up since the subtasks haven't been completed. When our payroll person tries to enter her time the tasks are all the same, so there will be 10 payroll tasks that are identical that she can enter her time to. Client Owner?
Who is the "client owner"? For the business this would logically be the owner of the business. I don't "own" the client. Would be better to name this "client manager". This is needlessly confusing, as accountants we don't own clients.

Work/Tasks should have better default setups
What we need to see is what subtasks are assigned to us. This should already be setup by default in Canopy. It's the whole reason to use Canopy, to track who is assigned to what. We shouldn't have to setup this for each new employee.

Dedicated credit card info area on Invoices
While the ability to move lines around on invoices is great, there are other improvements that should be made. Having a dedicated section at the bottom for credit card info would be great, we have a workaround for this but it gets cut off, goes to a 2nd page and doesn't look great.

Should be prompted to apply payments to invoices
We have clients that pay us in advance before we have actually billed them. When I go to do a bill, it does not prompt me to apply these payments. I have to do the bill first and then redo the bill when (or if I actually remember) to apply the payments. There should be a notification to apply the payments before printing the invoice (if there are payments to apply entered in Canopy already).

Archived tasks should not appear in the Insight reports
When pulling an insight report for tasks based on due dates, archived tasks should not appear. This creates a false illusion that a large percentage of tasks are not being completed.

Client Facing Dashboard/Status Tracker
It would be great if Canopy offered a client facing/visible dashboard or "Pizza Style" tracker for tax preparers to communicate their tax filing status in a streamlined and visual fashion. While we can update status in the notes section or through other Canopy integrations, it would be great to have this available on the client portal. It doesn't need to be interactive, but just viewable on the client side. I'm envisioning something similar to the Domino's Pizza Status Tracker, where there may be 5 steps on the dashboard (doc collection, preparation, filed, etc), and these can be toggled on or…

Email Forwarding of Full Email Thread
Canopy's email tool currently can only forward the selected message to a recipient.
Meaning that if the selected message is part of a larger email chain, when forwarded or replied to, the other emails in that chain and the context they provide are not included in the email.
We believe it would be better to handle emails more like a traditional email provider including all the previous items in that chain as those items provide additional context.

Workload dashboard, sort it 2 ways by client in addition to by user
Would like to see tasks outstanding by client in addition to tasks outstanding by user. this will give us insight as to what clients are falling behind.

Having the ability to update or add assignee to the Organizers. Also having the option to to clear an organizer with the option "Not Needed".

Add Client Group to Insight reporting
Add access to "Group" to Insights. We process reports with Invoice tota and write/up and write down by partner (client owner) but adding access to the field "Group" would really make these reports more useful

Default Assignees in reoccurring tasks
Reoccurring tasks and subtasks should roll forward with default assignees such as "preparer level 1" rather than roll forward with specific assignees that worked on the project in the prior year such as Jane Doe...who may no longer work with the firm. As it stands Reoccurring tasks require a lot of reclassifications for assignees which makes the reoccurring option not functional for our firm.

Add opt out option for scheduled liveboard emails
When someone else schedules you to receive a liveboard email (e.g. hourly, daily, weekly, monthly), there is no "opt-out" function. I am able to see that someone else created a schedule that includes me, but I cannot edit it and remove myself. There is also no opt-out option on the email I receive.

Creating alert/automations to users/admin on approaching or exceeding client budget hours.
Implementing a system to notify bookkeepers to be more accountable and efficient with their time on tasks. As part of company processes and procedures, if a bookkeeper assesses and estimates that they will need more time from the original budget to complete a task, they should ask for approval. This system also provides management and administration with visibility to monitor overall budgets and make better estimates for future tasks.
