The new "Files" format is a downgrade.
The new "Files" update has overly complicated the format and added more friction. More difficult to navigate with x3 the clicks. It's less obvious when a client has uploaded files and more difficult to sort them. Overall, this update feels like a significant downgrade.

Client doesn't see the folders I create unless I add a file in it
I'm extremely frustrated about the fact that your client can't see the folders you create in their client portal unless you add files to it! We are trying to add 4 folders to the client portal and some we don't have files to add yet so it's not letting them see all the folders which is very frustrating! Can you please allow clients to see the folder as you make it? or as we create a folder allow us to make it visible right then?

Automated Emails sent "from" Canopy?
When I set up automated emails to be sent within a task, the email comes from "Canopy" and not my office. Clients are getting confused and wondering what the heck "Canopy" is - can you change that to read the company name instead please?

YTD Revenue Should Include Clients Marked "Inactive"
We believe YTD Revenue should include Clients marked as "Inactive" as their revenue still should still be considered without it affecting our Contact count. Also PY Comparison of Revenue would be nice to see you. Thank you!

Set-up recurring Tasks on specific days of the month
Being able to set recurring tasks start date on the first//second/last X day of the month.
A firm that works Tue-Wed-Thu, would like to be able to set the start day of their monthly recurring tasks on the first Tuesday of the month, or the last Wednesday of the month.

Recurring Secure Upload Links (automated)
We have some clients who want their office managers to be able to send us certain reports each month. The individual does not need access to the portal and the client's personal information. If we could have the link sent once a month as a reminder for the reports that would be a huge time saver for us. The links expire in two weeks so there's no way to give them a link without expirations. A recurring secure upload link would be a game changer for us!

Notes
Receive a notification when a new note is added under a client. Either in the form of an email or notification in Canopy. Also, a red dot next to Notes Tab to let you know a new note was added when viewing a client would also be helpful!

Invoicing Should Once Again Allow for Negative Amounts
Please reinstate the ability to use Negative amounts on client invoices!
In some cases, we give clients discounts off our full fees based on the Affordability to them or for other reasons. We find it's important Marketing-wise for the client to see the full fee and to also see that we are giving them a discount from that amount.
We also use a cell to drop all cents from calculations, rounding the invoice amount down to the nearest whole dollar amount.

Allow all folder content to be visible to clients
Please give the option to make an entire folder's contents visible on the client's portal. Also, add an option to make all folder contents visible to client when setting up a folder template.

Template sharing
Karbon offers a template sharing option where members can crowdsource and share their workfkow templates, engagement letters and reports. Canopy NEEDS this. It would cut the learning curve and implementation drastically.

Additional features for E-Signing
Currently you can only add a signature and date on document. it would be VERY helpful to be able to allow for clients to fill in information that isn't pre printed on the form vs having to get the info, put it on the form, print to pdf and then upload to esign. Its almost faster just to use DocuSign but that is just another expense

Expense Note as the Description Line in Invoice
When adding an expense to the invoice, be able to also include the note that is with the expense in the description line on the invoice , therefore making it easier for the client to know what that is for AND saving time by not having to duplicate what is already there

Auto create tasks when client profile is created
Be able to setup an automation upon client creation in canopy to auto assign task to this client. This is helpful in making sure no one gets lost through the cracks with onboarding new clients and that that moment they hit canopy there is a task to take action on.

Client Requests coming from Company Name NOT a specific person
When sending client requests they are being sent to the client as the following, "Giovanna needs you to provide the following information”. We would like this to show as just company name or a role so it doesn’t show a employees specific name. We have employees that switch clients all the time and don't want them getting confused with the recurring client requests.

secure messaging within Canopy App
It would be great if there was a way to securely communicate within the Canopy app with the client. For example, you can chat within a client request, but the information remains there and is not easily accessible once the task is completed. Is there a way that could be set up on the main page without always having to generate a client request. That way Clients can ask questions or be asked questions without the risk of any information being compromised in an email.

Add Primary Client Name to Task List
When I go to the task list it would be nice to see the primary client option available there as well so it can group the clients together with their Entity Name. For Example I would love to see this

STOP CHANGING THE COLUMN SEQUENCE ON CONTACT EXPORT
Canopy appears to have changed the column sequence on the contact export again. You have done this before. This creates havoc for my internally developed invoice sync with my accounting system. I can understand adding a field or two but what possible purpose can rearranging every column on a csv export serve for anyone. Surely you did not rearrange columns in your source tables?

non-chargeable time entry
We'd like to be able to enter time to clients that we don't intend to charge for. For example, client setup, we might spend an hour to setup a new client in our tax software in order to kick out a tax organizer. The trigger for chargeable time is when time is entered on a client, but it would be nice if the trigger was the service item being chargeable or not chargeable. Being able to pick whether a service item is chargeable or not would be very helpful.
