It is an absolute downgrade, all the way back to a school project for an entry level UI/UX class. The helpful "counts" don't "count" subfolders, which makes it useless since subfolders are widely used. The viewable screen is smaller since it is now subdivided. There are now TWO file folder navigation windows taking up the screen which is beyond redundant. The whole site is missing very basic UI/UX expectations around simple navigation and breadcrumbs. As a user you often find yourself viewing a notification or a file and you have no idea where you are, no task name, no client name. You are just on file "hdgsyergjchfs.png" So...why oh why did Canopy decide that the file folder navigation needed anyone's billable hours working on it? That is the real question I have since it speaks to me of the top-level being out of touch with the real priorities for their users. It almost feels like the CEO has a nephew who is a user and they changed it all to what he asked for lol. It feels that far from the mark. My whole team hates it.
They should offer their new "solution" in the settings/preferences as an option, not the new status quo.
